====== Merubah Hostname di Linux ======
Secara default ketika komputer linux berjalan maka secara otomatis komputer akan mempunyai nama yang disebut hostname. Pada beberapa software seperti cpanel, directadmin dan service seperti httpd/apache membutuhkan hostname agar bisa berjalan.

Berikut ini adalah panduan cara merubah hostname di linux

===== Merubah Hostname di Centos =====
Untuk merubah hostname di centos lakukan tahapan berikut ini.

Gunakan text editor apa saja tapi kalau kami biasanya menggunakan nano, edit file dibawah ini

nano /etc/sysconfig/network
</code>
Ubah HOSTNAME=nama-hostname-anda.com
<code>
# sudo nano /etc/sysconfig/network
HOSTNAME=myserver.domain.com
</code>

Kemudian untuk internal network definisikan di hosts

nano /etc/hosts
</code>
format penulisan
<code>
ip_address hostname
</code>
contohnya seperti ini
<code>
127.0.0.1   localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
::1         localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain
119.235.249.118     server1.pusathosting.info
</code>

kemudian gunakan perintah **hostname** agar command line dapat membaca perubahan hostname anda.

[root@meridb ~]# hostname server1.pusathosting.info
[root@meridb ~]# hostname
server1.pusathosting.info
</code>
terakhir restart networking untuk membuat perubahan hostname secara permanen

/etc/init.d/network restart
</code>

===== Merubah Hostname di Ubuntu =====
Jika anda menggunakan distro linux ubuntu maka berikut ini adalah panduan cara merubah hostname

edit file hostname

sudo nano /etc/hostname
</code>
ubah hostnamenya dan kemudian definisikan hosts

sudo nano /etc/hosts
</code>
contohnya seperti ini

119.235.249.118     server1.pusathosting.info
</code>
kemudin reboot

sudo reboot
